Craigmore Sustainables has built and manages a wide range of business. To ensure strong accountability and transparency, governance functions are provided through a range of committees and boards appointed by Craigmore Sustainables.
Craigmore appoints General Partner boards to provide governance oversight to larger mixed-ownership partnerships it manages. Among other functions, these boards review partnership strategy, budgets and performance. Other specialist committees include the Investment Committee, Assurance & Risk Committee, Health, Safety & Empowerment Committee and commercially-focused Performance Committees for farming, forestry and each key horticultural crop.
Chief Executive Officer
Che brings to Craigmore extensive experience from New Zealand’s central government in a range of advisory roles. He joined Craigmore in 2010 as CEO and Managing Partner and also chairs the investment committee for a large Ahu Whenua trust which affiliates to his iwi Ngāti Tahu – Ngāti Whaoa.
Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Reuben is an experienced senior executive and joined Craigmore in 2023, having previously been chief executive of a leading Australasian retailer. He has also held senior positions in the sports equipment and energy sectors. A Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, he is also a Director of a large state-owned enterprise.
Head of Acquisitions & Corporate Finance
Paul has been involved with various high-growth companies in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand prior to joining Craigmore in 2016. He brings significant rural sector expertise having specialised in M&A, corporate finance and company governance. Paul is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and sits on a variety of boards across the rural sector.
General Manager, Farming
Stuart brings to Craigmore extensive experience in the management of multi-farm operations in large scale dairy farming. During his career, he has progressed from Herd Manager, to Farm Manager, to Equity Manager, to General Manager. Prior to joining Craigmore in 2019, Stuart was CEO at a North Island based management consultancy overseeing nine farms.
General Manager, Horticulture
Con joined Craigmore in 2023 having previously held the role of Investment General Manager for a New Zealand agricultural investment business. Prior to this he held senior economist roles including spending eight years with a New Zealand bank as their agri economist.
General Manager, Forestry
John joined Craigmore in 2021 bringing extensive experience in the forestry industry in both New Zealand and Australia. During his career he has worked with New Zealand's largest forestry company and also spent 13 years as an international investment manager responsible for pine, eucalypt and sandalwood plantations.
General Manager, People & Culture
Jane joined Craigmore in late 2023, having previously held the role of Human Resources Manager for a large nationwide commercial construction company. Prior to this, Jane ran for own HR and recruitment business in Christchurch for over ten years. In her role with Craigmore, she leads the people and culture, and health and safety functions across our sector teams.
Communications Manager
Andrea has spent 20 years leading brand, marketing and communications teams within the legal, education and agricultural sectors in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. She joined Craigmore in 2022.
Investor Relations
Nick joined Craigmore in 2013 to lead the London-based investor relations team. Nick spent 25 years managing a large cereal, vegetable and potato farming business, and was chair of a grain storage and marketing company, both in Kent. He sits on the Board of Magyar Farming Company, operating a largescale diversified farming business in Hungary. Nick is a Trustee of The Royal Agricultural Society of England and a Trustee of the Society Pension Fund.
Craigmore Sustainables Chair
Raised on Craigmore Station in the foothills of the Southern Alps, Forbes trained in Agricultural Economics at Lincoln University, attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and gained an MBA from Harvard Business School. After working in the financial industry, Forbes returned to farming in 2005 and went on to establish Craigmore Sustainables with Mark Cox.

John joined the Craigmore GP Board in February 2021 and is also a director of Craigmore Sustainables Group. John has over 15 years governance experience including six years on the board of leading New Zealand law firm Chapman Tripp. He has previously held board roles with a national commercial construction company, a leading Australasian retailer and the New Zealand Securities Commission.

Annika joined Craigmore in June 2023 bringing to the board extensive experience in human capital and business development, having spent much of her career building leadership talent at CEO, C-suite and board level. She is also on the board of the New Zealand Opera, a member of Global Women and the founder/owner of Kopuwai Delta Vineyard in Central Otago.
John joined the Craigmore Sustainables board in 2017. He has spent most of his career in the dairy industry, starting as a sharemilker on the West Coast. In 1994, John helped establish Camden Dairy Farms which owns and operates six properties in Central Canterbury, and in 1996 he established an advising consultancy, Dairy Farm Management Services.
Andrew Gibbs has been a member of the Craigmore GP Board since 2014. He currently chairs the Craigmore Assurance and Risk Committee. Andrew is a recently retired Partner of a leading New Zealand financial advisory firm, where he worked as Leader of Primary Industry for over ten years.

Josef is a founding partner of GlenSilva GmbH which is part of the Westphalen Estate, Germany. The Estate has owned and managed forest and farmland in Central Europe for many centuries and during the last decade it has expanded into New Zealand and the US. Previously, he spent many years in the financial services industry, principally at Deutsche Bank AG in Germany, South America, India and Eastern Europe.
